Create campaigns manually

In the case, where you want to create Performance Max campaigns without using tools or other upgrade methods, you can manually create the campaign yourself using the Google Ads API.

Follow the steps outlined for each of the following use cases:

• Online sales or lead generation
• Online sales with a product feed
• Travel Goals

Note: We recommend using this route only if there is no option to upgrade a campaign type or if you intended to keep both the Performance Max campaign and the existing campaign active together. Using assisted or automatic upgrade routes have other benefits such as the ability to A/B test performance or retain campaign continuity.
