This Glossary provides definitions of common ARI (Availability, Rates, and Inventory) terms.
ARI (Availability, Rates, and Inventory)
A pricing delivery mode that controls nightly rates, availability, and inventory, and provides constraints on how these can be combined.
Availability
Indicates whether the combination of room type and rate plan is allowed to be sold on a specific date.
ID
Google uses “ID” for the identifier for room type and package (rate plan); whereas, OTA XML uses “code”. You must create your own IDs since Google doesn't generate them.
Inventory
The number of physical rooms that are available to be sold for a specific date range.
Package
Defines the different ways that a room type can be sold. Also known as rate plan.
Package ID
The unique identifier for a rate plan (or package). Also known as rate plan ID.
Product
The room type and rate plan combination that is referenced as the sellable product. Also known as room rate.
Property data
Defines room type and package (rate plan) information.
Property ID
The unique identifier for the hotel or property.
Rate (rate amount)
The nightly occupancy pricing per product for a specific date range.
Rate plan
Defines different ways that a room type can be sold. Rate plans may be priced differently because refundability and value-adds, such as free breakfast, are offered, or because they have additional constraints on availability, such as early or late booking. Also known as package.
Room rate
The combination of room type and rate plan that is referenced as the sellable product. Also known as product.
Room type
The type of room being sold, such as a King room with an ocean view.
Room type ID
The unique identifier for room type.
