For ridesharing and deliveries solutions, routing includes the process of calculating
a path along the road network, complete with an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA).
The quality of this information and the timely delivery of it are essential
to improving driver productivity and providing a quality consumer experience.
To address this requirement and support mission-critical ridesharing
and deliveries use cases, the Routes Preferred API
provides a collection of performance-optimized versions of Directions APIs.
Performance optimizations include:
Improved ETA accuracy.
Reduced response latency.
The ability to customize the details included in responses.
API requests that receive a higher priority in Google's serving queue.
