Structured Data Files are formatted comma-separated values (CSV) files used to retrieve and manage Display & Video 360 resources in bulk. You can download and upload using the Display & Video 360 interface.
See the Structured Data Files documentation for an overview of the format and column definitions.
How does it work?
Structured Data Files are CSV files containing a top row of column headers and subsequent rows representing resources and their settings. You can download, modify, and upload Structured Data Files to manage resource settings in bulk. A single file consists of resources of a single type. Each supported resource type has its own file format defining the columns and their data types.
Since CSV files are text files, you can edit Structured Data Files manually in Google Sheets or other text editing software.
Structured Data Files formats are versioned, with up to four versions released every year. Earlier versions are regularly deprecated and usually sunset six months after deprecation.
What can it do?
As of v6, Structured Data Files support the management of the following resource types:
- Campaign
- Insertion Order
- Line Item
- YouTube Ad Group
- YouTube Ad
- Inventory Source
- Media Product
Your team can manage these resources in bulk using Structured Data Files by downloading, editing, and uploading files to update existing resources or create new ones.
Who is it built for?
Integrating with Structured Data Files is ideal for teams that want to optimize their manual management of Display & Video 360 resources beyond features available directly in Display & Video 360 interface.
Teams can edit and share files offline, making Structured Data Files a suitable choice for multi-step processes. In addition, given the standardized formatting of Structured Data Files, teams with engineering resources can build scripts to review or edit files as needed.
As Structured Data Files are versioned, you must occasionally migrate to a newer version.
What products work with it?
Structured Data Files for QA let you review Display & Video 360 resource settings in the same CSV structure as Structured Data Files, but with more human-readable data. If you need to review settings manually, you can use this format to review settings and then download, edit, and upload standard SDFs to make any updates.
Display & Video 360 API can be used to programmatically generate and download Structured Data Files. Automating the download of Structured Data Files can guarantee that the necessary files are available when your team is ready to use them.
