New basemap styling is coming soon to Google Maps Platform. This update to map styling includes a new default color palette, modernized pins, and improvements to map experiences and usability. Every tile request (2D Tiles, Street View Tiles, and root tile requests for
Photorealistic 3D Tiles) counts against your project's daily quota ("Fee Threshold") for the
Map Tiles API. Session token requests, viewport information requests,
Street View Metadata requests, and Tile requests for Photorealistic 3D Tiles don't impact
your daily quota.
2D Tiles and Street View Tiles
Maximum 6,000 2D Tile, Street View Tile, Thumbnail, or
Street View PanoID queries per project per minute, calculated as the sum of
all requests for all applications using the credentials of the same project.
Maximum 6,000 session token requests, viewport
information requests, or Street View Metadata requests per project per
minute, calculated as the sum of all requests for all applications using the
credentials of the same project.
Maximum 15,000 2D Tile, Street View Tile, Thumbnail, or
Street View PanoID queries per project per day.
Photorealistic 3D Tiles
Maximum 10000 root tileset queries per day. This is
calculated as the sum of all requests for all applications using the
credentials of the same project.
Timed session tokens allow for up to three hours of renderer tile requests
from a single root tileset request.
Unlimited renderer-originating tile requests per day. This is calculated as
the sum of all requests for all applications using the credentials of the
same project.
Rate limit is 12,000 queries per minute for the tile
renderer.
