In our effort to help users search all the world's public videos, the Google Video team joined the
Sitemaps folks to introduce Video Sitemaps—an extension of the
Sitemap Protocol that
helps make your videos more searchable via
Google Video Search. By submitting
this video-specific Sitemap in addition to your standard Sitemap, you can specify all the video
files on your site, along with relevant metadata. Here's an example:
[[["Easy to understand","easyToUnderstand","thumb-up"],["Solved my problem","solvedMyProblem","thumb-up"],["Other","otherUp","thumb-up"]],[["Missing the information I need","missingTheInformationINeed","thumb-down"],["Too complicated / too many steps","tooComplicatedTooManySteps","thumb-down"],["Out of date","outOfDate","thumb-down"],["Samples / code issue","samplesCodeIssue","thumb-down"],["Other","otherDown","thumb-down"]],[],[[["Google Video and Sitemaps teams introduced Video Sitemaps, an extension of the Sitemap Protocol to enhance video searchability on Google Video Search."],["Video Sitemaps, submitted alongside standard Sitemaps, allow website owners to specify video files and relevant metadata for improved search visibility."],["Submitting a Video Sitemap involves creating the Sitemap, signing into Google Webmaster Tools (now known as Google Search Console), and adding it to your account."],["Some information in this blog post may be outdated; refer to the up-to-date Video Sitemaps documentation for the latest information."]]],[]]
